Project Overview

Assam Resilient Rural Bridges Program (ARRBP) – Group A, Consultancy Services for Feasibility Study, Design, and DPR Preparation

The Assam Resilient Rural Bridges Program (ARRBP) is a flagship initiative supported by the World Bank to enhance bridge infrastructure across flood-prone and geologically sensitive regions of Assam. The project covers the feasibility study, design, and preparation of DPRs for 315 bridges requiring maintenance, widening, replacement, or reconstruction due to damage caused by flooding and landslides.

United Engineers Alliances Pvt. Ltd. (UEA), in association with STUP Consultants, serves as the Lead Consultant for Group A, covering eight districts across Assam. The program aims to strengthen the rural transport network and ensure year-round connectivity for communities vulnerable to natural disasters.

Scope of Work

UEA’s key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting topographical and hydrological surveys using DGPS and Total Station
  • Performing geotechnical investigations for foundation design
  • Preparing General Arrangement Drawings (GAD) and finalizing bridge alignments
  • Conducting social, environmental, and ecological assessments, including SIA, EIA, and EMP
  • Developing biodiversity impact assessments and mitigation action plans
  • Finalizing detailed design and cost estimates for all proposed bridge structures

UEA’s expert team, comprising specialists in geotechnical, environmental, and social sciences, has been instrumental in ensuring data-driven design and compliance with World Bank safeguard policies. The firm’s integrated approach has improved project efficiency by combining engineering precision with environmental sustainability and community engagement.
