Construction of Extradosed PSC Bridge over River Brahmaputra Including Viaducts and Approaches – Guwahati to North Guwahati

The Extradosed PSC Bridge over the River Brahmaputra, connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati, is an iconic infrastructure project that marks a new era of connectivity for Assam. Designed as a multi-lane bridge with viaducts and approach roads, it will drastically reduce travel time between the city’s north and south banks—from nearly two hours to just a few minutes. It is formally known as the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu
Situated about 5.7 km upstream of the historic Saraighat Bridge, the new structure is being developed under an EPC contract funded by the New Development Bank (NDB). United Engineers Alliances Pvt. Ltd. (UEA), in association with SYSTRA Brazil and SAI Consulting, serves as the Project Management Consultant (Authority Engineer) responsible for ensuring design integrity, construction quality, and environmental compliance.

Scope of Work
UEA’s scope includes:
- Review of existing studies, designs, and technical documents
- Construction supervision and quality control for bridge and approach works
- Monitoring of environmental and social safeguards, including RAP implementation
- Development of E&S Management Systems and project-specific plans
- Material testing, field inspections, and structural quality assurance
- Project documentation, reporting, and contract administration
Continuous monitoring to ensure adherence to EPC contractual obligations
