Assam Integrated River Basin Management Program (AIRBMP) Project Management and Technical Consultancy (PMTC) – Funded by the World Bank
The Assam Integrated River Basin Management Program (AIRBMP) is a flagship initiative supported by the World Bank that focuses on sustainable water resource management and flood resilience across Assam. The program aims to strengthen institutional capacity, improve basin-level planning, and implement both structural and non-structural measures to mitigate flood and erosion risks.
United Engineers Alliances Pvt. Ltd. (UEA), as the Project Management and Technical Consultant (PMTC) in collaboration with Royal HaskoningDHV Consulting Pvt. Ltd., provides comprehensive project management, technical, and institutional support to multiple implementing agencies, including FREMAA, Water Resources Department (WRD), and ASDMA.
Description
Scope of Work
UEA’s scope under this program includes:
- Project management assistance in planning, procurement, financial oversight, and reporting
- Technical supervision of river engineering and flood management works
- Support in preparing DPRs, quality assurance, and QA/QC monitoring
- Development of flood forecasting systems and preparation of the Assam State Water Policy
- Implementation of environmental and social safeguards, including ESMPs and RAPs
- Capacity building programs and training for government engineers and officials
- Stakeholder engagement, coordination, and communication with World Bank teams
- Support in digital transformation and MIS-based monitoring systems for WRD
UEA Contribution
UEA’s technical and managerial expertise has been instrumental in driving effective coordination across departments and ensuring that the program meets global standards of integrated water resource management. The firm’s role extends beyond engineering — promoting data-driven decision-making, institutional strengthening, and sustainable basin-level planning for long-term resilience in Assam.
