Authority’s Engineer Services for Rehabilitation and Upgradation of NH-44 From Km 69.200 to Km 173.200 in Meghalaya – On EPC Mode
The project involved the rehabilitation and upgradation of the Jowai–Assam Border section of NH-44, a critical highway stretch connecting Meghalaya with Assam. The 104 km corridor serves as a vital trade and transport link for the region, facilitating the movement of goods and passengers across the Northeast.
United Engineers Alliances Pvt. Ltd. (UEA), in association with EGIS India Pvt. Ltd., served as the Authority’s Engineer for this EPC project. The consultancy ensured that all engineering, environmental, and contractual provisions were implemented effectively while maintaining strict quality and safety standards throughout construction.

Scope of Work
UEA’s responsibilities included:
- Reviewing design drawings and documents prepared by the contractor
- Supervision and monitoring of construction works and material quality
- Conducting completion inspections and issuing provisional certificates
- Overseeing operation and maintenance (O&M) performance
- Monitoring environmental and social compliance
- Cost verification, time extensions, and resolution of contractual disputes
Periodic reporting to NHAI on project progress and compliance
